The Public Health Nursing of the Steuben County Health Department provides health promotion and disease prevention for the residents of Steuben County.
Services we provide:
An immunization program for infants to adolescents
Adult & Child flu shots
TB tests
Investigation and follow up of all communicable diseases
Permitting and inspections/investigations of tattoo parlors

Indiana State Department of Health: New Policy
Due to recent changes at the Indiana State Department of Health, as of February 1, 2012, County Health Departments are no longer able to vaccinate children with private insurance that covers vaccines (regardless of deductibles). It is imperative that you check with your insurance company prior to coming to the Health Department to get your child vaccinated. If your insurance company covers vaccines you will need to contact your child's physician to arrange for immunizations. If your child has Hoosier Health Wise or Medicaid they are eligible for vaccination at the Health Department, however you must present their card at EVERY visit. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Appointment Only Clinics
Wednesday afternoon/evenings
starting at 3:30 PM
Additional clinics may be available in July and August to assist with back to school immunizations.
- Appointments may be made up to 2 months in advance
- Previous Immunization records & guardian-signed consent form required
- The immunization program runs on your donations and these are greatly appreciated in order to continue to provide these services.
- After a no show or several repeat cancellations, no further appointments will be permitted for 6 months. Appointments will not be made during immunization clinics.
