| Student Crime Stoppers Tip $50 |
What is Student Crime Stoppers?
Have you ever known about someone who was stealing from lockers? Someone who was vandalizing cars in the parking lot? Someone who was selling drugs? Someone who talks about having a gun?
STUDENT CRIME STOPPERS gives you – the student – a way to report school crimes anonymously. Call STUDENT CRIME STOPPERS, report crimes, and help make your school safer.
How does it work?
A crime is committed in; around, or to someone on school property and you know who committed the crime.
ALWAYS CONSULT WITH YOUR PARENTS FIRST then call Student Crime Stoppers at 668-STOP or contact your Guidance Counselor to fill out a tip sheet to report the person responsible for the crime.
Your information will be taken in strict confidence. Your anonymity is guaranteed. You never have to give your name. Student Crime Stoppers does not have caller ID.
You will be given a tip number. To receive an update on your tip, wait three weeks and call 668-STOP. Give the operator your tip number. Information about your tip will be given to you.
If your tip leads to the apprehension of the person(s) responsible for a crime or the recovery of stolen items, you may qualify for a cash reward.
Is there really a reward?
YES! You will receive $50.00 for the conviction of the person(s) responsible for school crime whether you call Student Crime Stoppers or fill out a tip sheet through your Guidance Counselor.
The Steuben County Community Foundation and Crime Stoppers sponsor this program.
