4/2/21 PSA re: COVID-19
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The State of Indiana has released two recent Executive Order 21-08 and 21-09 related to COVID-19 pandemic measures including the mask mandate that will expire on April 5, 2021 at 11:59 PM. The Steuben County Health Department makes the following recommendations for any residents or visitors in/to Steuben County.
Please do the following:
- Practice caution when in public spaces and while in the company of individuals outside of the immediate family;
- Practice social distancing when in groups that include non-family members;
- Practice good hand hygiene including soap and water and hand sanitizer, when needed;
- It is strongly recommended to use a face mask/covering when exhibiting or experiencing acute respiratory symptoms or flu-like symptoms.
Businesses and Restaurants
Restaurants, bars, taverns, nightclubs and other establishments providing in-person food and/or drink service are encouraged to continue to arrange and maintain seating so that individuals, households, or parties are spaced at least six (6) feet apart from any other individual, household or party and to have patrons remain seated while consuming food and/ or drink or otherwise remaining on premise.
At this time, there are additional restrictions for social gatherings based on capacity limits or county color code metrics. If a rise in the percent positivity or rise in the number of positive COVID-19 cases are identified, additional measures will be discussed.
The general requirement Face coverings and masks are required at all COVID-19 testing facilities, COVID-19 vaccination clinics, schools and medical facilities. The Steuben County Health Department urges all businesses to continue with requiring staff and customers to wear a face covering/ face mask. *Please note: The Steuben County Health Department is still requiring all staff and customers to wear a face covering/mask while conducting business in the department’s office or in field.
