Our Mission

The Steuben County Health Department is dedicated to the purpose of promoting, protecting, and maintaining public health for all residents and visitors in Steuben County. Through community education and addressing public health issues, this department provides health services devoted to the promotion of a healthy population and safe environment.


The staff of the Steuben County Health Department are dedicated health specialists, who endeavor to provide services to meet public health needs that arise on a daily basis. The department offers a wide range of services such as: vital records, environmental health and education, and public health nursing and vaccination services. 


The Steuben County Health department does not issue any certificates, letters or permits after 4:15 PM. If needed after this time, please call the department to make special arrangements.

Announcements

- On March 1, 2024, the cost of a Mantoux skin test for the detection of TB will be set to $25 for the administration and read of the test. If you have any questions related to the fee schedule change, please call the department and ask to speak to the Director of Public Health Nursing.

All scheduled meetings start at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Health Conference Room on the first floor of the Community Center located at 317 S. Wayne St. Angola, IN 46703.
